Leeds United face late decisions over Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Anton Stach and Noah Okafor, Liverpool will be without Dominik Szoboszlai, and Newcastle could welcome Anthony Elanga back for Sunday’s Premier League fixtures.
Brentford must replace two suspended midfielders at Hull, while Bournemouth expect Eli Junior Kroupi to return to their squad at Manchester United.
Five matches complete the weekend programme on Sunday 25 October. All times below are UK time, with GMT replacing British Summer Time after the clocks go back.
| Fixture | Kick-off | Venue |
|---|---|---|
| Crystal Palace vs Newcastle United | 2pm | Selhurst Park |
| Hull City vs Brentford | 2pm | MKM Stadium |
| Liverpool vs Brighton | 2pm | Anfield |
| Manchester United vs Bournemouth | 2pm | Old Trafford |
| Sunderland vs Leeds United | 4.30pm | Stadium of Light |
These are the latest pre-match availability updates. Returning to training does not necessarily mean a player is ready to start.
Sunderland vs Leeds: Farke waits on three influential players
Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Anton Stach and Noah Okafor are major doubts for Leeds after missing training during the week.
Calvert-Lewin has a bruised foot, Stach also has a foot problem and Okafor is managing an adductor issue. Daniel Farke said on Friday that none would have been available had the match taken place that day, but the additional recovery time gave them a chance.
The distinction between the injuries matters. Farke described the foot problems as painful, while explaining that Okafor’s muscular issue required particular care over his minutes.
Joe Rodon is also a major doubt. Daniel James has completed a full training week and is in contention, according to Leeds’ official fitness update.
Sunderland have a potential attacking boost. Régis Le Bris said Brian Brobbey would be ready for Leeds after sitting out Thursday’s European match, as confirmed in the club’s update. That establishes an expected return to contention, rather than a guaranteed start.
Kevin Danso is suspended, while Dan Ballard remains sidelined, as detailed in the latest Sunderland team-news assessment.
Our maintained Brobbey injury page follows his recovery.
Crystal Palace vs Newcastle: Elanga offers hope of a return
Matthias Jaissle hopes Anthony Elanga can return to Newcastle’s squad after missing their last four league matches.
Jacob Ramsey has also resumed work on the grass, but that is an earlier stage of recovery than confirmation that he can play. Newcastle’s official briefing separates the two players’ progress.
Tino Livramento remains unavailable. Matías Fernández-Pardo is another concern after illness disrupted his preparation.
For Palace, Dean Henderson’s readiness remains a decision after his return to training. Takehiro Tomiyasu and Chadi Riad are unavailable, while Quinten Timber and Jørgen Strand Larsen have also been carrying problems.
TNT Sports’ match preview lists Timber and Strand Larsen as doubts. Their involvement should not be assumed before the squad is confirmed.
The game is live on Sky Sports. Palace’s viewing information distinguishes the 12.30pm coverage start from the 2pm kick-off.
Hull vs Brentford: two suspensions reshape Andrews’ midfield
Vitaly Janelt and Yehor Yarmoliuk are both suspended following their dismissals against Liverpool.
Jannik Schuster has returned to training after a knock and illness disrupted his preparation for that match. Nathan Collins and Mathias Jensen have made further progress in their recoveries, although the update does not establish that either can complete 90 minutes.
Brentford’s official preview confirms the suspensions and returning players.
The immediate question for Keith Andrews is how to replace two midfield options while retaining enough protection when possession changes hands. Our Brentford midfield analysis examines that balance, while the suspension guide explains the different lengths of the bans.
Hull remain without several players. Charlie Hughes, Nobel Mendy, Darko Gyabi, Matt Targett, Ilyas Ansah and Eliot Matazo are listed as unavailable in Football365’s preview.
The same report says Mohamed-Ali Cho and Lucas Gourna-Douath have trained during the week and could return. Their presence in training should not be treated as confirmation of selection.
Liverpool vs Brighton: Szoboszlai out, Barcola available
Dominik Szoboszlai will miss the Brighton match. Andoni Iraola confirmed that the midfielder had not resumed group training following his latest setback.
Bradley Barcola is available after training normally on Friday. Víctor Muñoz remains doubtful because of pain following a knock against Brentford.
Ryan Gravenberch is eligible again after serving his league suspension. Conor Bradley, Hugo Ekitike and Giovanni Leoni remain sidelined, according to Liverpool’s official team-news roundup.
Brighton could welcome back Yankuba Minteh or Mats Wieffer, with Fabian Hürzeler leaving a decision until after further training. Pascal Struijk also requires monitoring.
Femi Azeez, Evan Ferguson, Kaoru Mitoma, Stefanos Tzimas and Zadok Yohanna are expected to remain absent.
The selection question is how much either manager changes after European football. A player being rested in midweek is not, by itself, evidence of an injury.
Manchester United vs Bournemouth: defensive options improve for Carrick
Leny Yoro is available after his European suspension, Ayden Heaven has returned following illness and Matthijs de Ligt made his comeback against Como.
Lisandro Martínez and Marcus Rashford remain fitness doubts. Patrick Dorgu, Luke Shaw, Kobbie Mainoo, Manuel Ugarte and Benjamin Šeško are expected to miss out, according to Manchester United’s official team news.
Bournemouth plan to include Kroupi after his recovery from foot surgery. Marco Rose has spoken about giving him minutes while managing his return carefully.
Alex Scott remains sidelined, and Alex Tóth suffered a hamstring injury against AC Milan. Evanilson was withdrawn following a heavy challenge in that match; the available update does not establish that he has been ruled out at Old Trafford.
Our Manchester United vs Bournemouth viewing guide has the broadcast details. Confirmed teams will settle the remaining selection questions before kick-off.
