The Fenerbahce vs Liverpool lineups are confirmed, with Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz among the substitutes as Andoni Iraola makes five changes for Wednesday’s Champions League match in Istanbul.

Rio Ngumoha, Bradley Barcola and Víctor Muñoz start in an attack without a recognised centre-forward. Cody Gakpo is also on the bench as Liverpool look to respond to Sunday’s 1-0 defeat by Arsenal.

Former Liverpool forward Dirk Kuyt leads Fenerbahce as interim head coach, with Romelu Lukaku and Mason Greenwood both starting for the hosts.

Iraola makes five changes after Arsenal defeat

Gomez, Tsimikas, Szoboszlai, Muñoz and Ngumoha come into Liverpool’s starting XI. Araújo, Kerkez, Wirtz, Gakpo and Isak drop to the bench.

Szoboszlai and Muñoz had returned to the matchday squad against Arsenal following injury. Both now start, while Nyoni keeps his place in midfield alongside Mac Allister.

Ryan Gravenberch is absent with a heel injury. Liverpool’s pre-match team news also confirmed that Jeremie Frimpong remains sidelined, along with longer-term absentees Conor Bradley, Hugo Ekitike and Giovanni Leoni.

The attacking selection gives Ngumoha and Muñoz an opportunity from the start, with Isak, Wirtz and Gakpo available if Iraola wants to change the game from the bench.

Liverpool are chasing a fourth successive league-phase victory. Our Fenerbahce vs Liverpool preview looks at the challenge facing Iraola’s side and their reunion with Kuyt.
