Foden and Cherki return as Maresca changes four

Foden and Cherki join Iliman Ndiaye in the attacking unit behind Haaland. Elliot Anderson and Enzo Fernandez also start, while Matheus Nunes and O’Reilly occupy the full-back positions.

Guehi partners Abdukodir Khusanov in central defence in front of Gianluigi Donnarumma. Dias and Gvardiol are available from the bench as Maresca reshapes the side following the 1-0 Premier League defeat by Brighton.

City have six points from their first three Champions League games, beating Porto and AEK Athens either side of a defeat by Paris Saint-Germain.

Leipzig have three points after defeating PSV Eindhoven and losing away to Como and Real Madrid. The German side’s home form offers a tougher test: they have won all five home matches in all competitions this season without conceding, according to City’s pre-match squad update.
