Julio Enciso earns the highest mark in our Hull vs Ipswich player ratings after his superb equaliser secured a 2-2 draw at the MKM Stadium.

Oli McBurnie created Tim Iroegbunam’s equaliser and then put Hull ahead with a free-kick, overturning Florentino Luís’s first-half opener. Enciso ensured Ipswich left with a point after a match in which both sides had spells of control.

Abdoul Ouattara impressed going forward for the visitors, while Jack Clarke and Azor Matusiwa made useful contributions from the bench.

Our confirmed line-ups cover both starting teams. TWTD’s match report provides a detailed account of the game.

All marks are out of 10. NR means not rated.

Hull City player ratings

Konstantinos Tzolakis — 6: Survived an awkward moment with the ball at his feet. Enciso’s equaliser was an outstanding finish rather than an obvious goalkeeping error.

Lewie Coyle — 6: Became more involved as Hull improved after half-time, including an effort across goal. Less comfortable during Ipswich’s dominant opening spell.

Semi Ajayi — 6: Made an early intervention to deny Emersonn a route through. Later booked for stopping Clarke as Ipswich threatened on the break.

John Egan — 6: Blocked a dangerous Ouattara cross before being withdrawn around half-time. Hull’s subsequent improvement followed a change in their midfield numbers.

Nobel Mendy — 5: Had a demanding return against Ipswich’s mobile attack. Hull could not consistently close the spaces the visitors found around their penalty area.

Ryan Giles — 5: Ouattara’s attacking influence made it a difficult afternoon on Hull’s left. The visitors repeatedly found opportunities to advance down that side.

Tim Iroegbunam — 8: Made an important first-half challenge on Enciso, then drove forward to score Hull’s equaliser. Influential in both the recovery and the resistance.

Regan Slater — 6: Part of Hull’s improved midfield performance after a difficult start. Helped the hosts make the contest much more competitive after the interval.

Mohamed Belloumi — 7: Won the free-kick McBurnie converted and later had a shot blocked. His involvement grew as Hull carried more threat.

Elliot Stroud — 5: Struggled to influence the first half and was booked after the restart. Replaced as Hull looked for a greater attacking contribution.

Oli McBurnie — 8: Set up Iroegbunam and scored the free-kick that briefly put Hull ahead. The principal attacking figure in the home side’s turnaround.

Hull City substitutes

Matt Crooks — 6: His introduction accompanied Hull’s improvement, although a booking and another later foul left him walking a disciplinary line.

Mohamed-Ali Cho — 7: Pressured O’Shea into a poor header and almost profited. Added an attacking threat that Ipswich had to take seriously.

Brooke Norton-Cuffy — 6: Entered after Ipswich had equalised and helped Hull through a testing final spell.

Hidemasa Morita — 6: Replaced Iroegbunam with the score level. Hull were unable to recover the same momentum they had enjoyed earlier in the half.

Joe Gelhardt — NR: A late introduction who had too little time for a full assessment.

Ipswich player ratings

Christian Walton — 5: An unconvincing afternoon, including a dropped corner. Hull’s two second-half finishes exposed the visitors’ inability to protect their first-half advantage.

Abdoul Ouattara — 8: Supplied Florentino’s opener and repeatedly advanced into threatening positions. One of Ipswich’s most productive players, despite missing a late shooting opportunity.

Issa Diop — 7: Made useful clearances when Walton and O’Shea encountered trouble. His interventions helped stop Hull turning their second-half pressure into a larger lead.

Dara O’Shea — 4: Failed to close Iroegbunam quickly enough for the equaliser and later under-hit a header with Cho chasing. A difficult defensive performance.

Leif Davis — 6: Made an important interception during a Hull break. Ipswich nevertheless became too open during the spell in which the hosts overturned the score.

Florentino Luís — 7: Finished emphatically for the opening goal. His mark is tempered by conceding the free-kick from which McBurnie put Hull ahead.

Exequiel Palacios — 6: Helped Ipswich control the early stages, but a booking complicated his afternoon. The visitors could not maintain that midfield authority after half-time.

Abdul Fatawu — 6: Linked with Ouattara during Ipswich’s strong start and drew a booking from Stroud. Replaced as the visitors sought a response to falling behind.

Julio Enciso — 9: Scored a superb equaliser, had an earlier header disallowed and continued creating danger. His late delivery also gave Maeda a chance to win it.

Jaden Philogene — 5: Had an early opening to release Emersonn but did not turn his return to Hull into a decisive attacking performance.

Emersonn — 6: Created an opening for Enciso and worked his way into shooting positions. The finishing touch remained missing before Flemming replaced him.

Ipswich substitutes

Azor Matusiwa — 7: Supplied Enciso before the equaliser and helped Ipswich regain momentum after a difficult second-half spell.

Jack Clarke — 7: Added immediate danger, winning fouls and threatening with both a free-kick and a shot. An effective introduction.

Daizen Maeda — 6: Provided fresh movement but headed a late chance wide. That opening offered Ipswich a possible winning goal.

Zian Flemming — 6: Joined the attack for the closing stages without making the decisive contribution Ipswich were seeking.

Chuba Akpom — NR: Entered moments before the final whistle.

Hull vs Ipswich player ratings: player of the match

Julio Enciso. McBurnie’s goal and assist made him a strong contender, but Enciso supplied the outstanding finish and remained central to Ipswich’s attacking threat. His equaliser rescued a game that had turned sharply against the visitors.
