Manchester City: expanded SeatGeek deal keeps ticket system intact
Manchester City expand their SeatGeek partnership with matchday and digital branding, keeping primary ticket sales and pricing controls unchanged.
Manchester City have confirmed an expanded global partnership with SeatGeek. It widens the ticketing platform’s presence across the Etihad Stadium. This update, published on 26 September 2026, sets out the current position on the Man City SeatGeek partnership, and explains what changes for supporters, and what does not.
Latest update on Manchester City and SeatGeek
City have deepened their commercial tie-up with SeatGeek, the ticketing technology company that already handles the club’s primary ticket sales. The new terms bring SeatGeek’s branding into more visible parts of matchday at the Etihad. That relationship dates back to 2018.
Greg Swimer, City Football Group’s chief technology officer, welcomed the extension. “Continuously investing in the best technology to improve the online ticketing and membership experience for fans is a key priority for Manchester City. We have worked with SeatGeek for a number of years as our trusted ticketing technology provider. It’s fantastic to further integrate our two brands with the announcement of this global partnership. We look forward to continuing to work together over the coming years.”
SeatGeek’s role at the Etihad Stadium
SeatGeek is not new to Manchester City. The company has run the club’s primary ticketing system since 2018, handling season ticket renewals, general sale and membership access for supporters buying directly from the club.
That track record underpins the expanded deal. City are not bringing in a new provider. They are giving an established partner a bigger presence around the stadium and at other events held there.
What the expanded deal changes for matchday digital assets
The visible change sits on the pitchside LED boards, which will now carry SeatGeek branding during matches. The company’s logo will also appear across digital inventory on other event days at the Etihad, including concerts and hospitality fixtures.
Supporters will see SeatGeek far more often around the ground. That covers matchdays, concerts and hospitality events held at the stadium.
Does the expanded SeatGeek deal change how fans buy tickets?
No. The way supporters buy Manchester City tickets stays exactly as it is. Nothing about the purchasing process, from browsing availability to checkout, has changed under this agreement.
SeatGeek also has no power, and no technical route, to resell Manchester City tickets on a secondary market. That distinction matters given the club’s history. A Viagogo arrangement two seasons ago prompted supporter protests and forced City into a season ticket price freeze. The Man City SeatGeek partnership remains a primary ticketing agreement only, and the club has been clear that this will not change.
What happens next for Manchester City ticketing
City have not signalled any further changes to ticketing beyond the branding rollout already confirmed. Swimer’s comments point to continued investment in the platform behind the scenes, rather than a shift in how fans access tickets.
For now, the picture for supporters is simple. It’s the same ticketing process, run by the same trusted provider, with SeatGeek simply more visible around the Etihad. Full background on how the deal came together is available in the original SeatGeek partnership announcement.
