Birmingham vs Swansea injury news centres on August Priske and Stephen Welsh, with both players facing fitness decisions before Saturday’s Championship meeting. Birmingham goalkeeper James Beadle is expected to miss out, while Swansea midfielder Melker Widell is unavailable.

There are returning options for both managers. Paik Seung-ho and Dael Fry have resumed training for Birmingham, while Jisung Eom and Moussa Yeo are available again for Swansea.

The match kicks off at 3pm UK time on Saturday 7 November at St Andrew’s @ Knighthead Park. Follow our Birmingham vs Swansea match centre for confirmed line-ups and match updates.

Birmingham City injury news: August Priske remains a doubt

Priske missed Tuesday’s 3-0 win over Millwall after taking a knock against Lincoln City. Chris Davies said the striker was improving but stopped short of confirming his availability for Swansea.

In the latest August Priske injury update reported by Hayters, Davies said another assessment was planned for Friday.

“It would be a very close call again if we could get him available in some way for the game,” Davies said.

Priske therefore remains a doubt rather than a confirmed absentee. Max Bird and Jay Stansfield both scored against Millwall, giving Davies an attacking combination he can retain if the striker does not recover in time.

James Beadle expected out as Paik and Fry return to training

Beadle also missed the Millwall match after being replaced during the win at Lincoln. Davies previously said the goalkeeper was more likely to be unavailable against Swansea, according to Birmingham Live’s report of his injury update.

Ryan Allsop deputised against Millwall and kept a clean sheet. He is the expected replacement again if Beadle cannot play.

Paik is back in full training, while Fry has trained for several days. Their progress strengthens Davies’ selection options, although neither has been confirmed as a starter.

Swansea City injury news: Stephen Welsh scan brings relief

Welsh came off during Swansea’s 3-1 defeat at Portsmouth after a heavy challenge. A scan showed no significant damage, but the defender still required assessment before the Birmingham trip.

The Stephen Welsh injury update from Vitor Matos described a painful knock rather than a serious injury. That leaves his involvement uncertain.

Ben Cabango is available after the fitness issue that disrupted his preparation for Portsmouth, according to Swansea Bay News. He came off the bench to replace Welsh at Fratton Park.

Eom and Yeo available, but Widell misses Birmingham

Eom has recovered from the knocks he suffered against Blackburn, while Yeo has returned to normal training. Both are available for selection.

Widell will miss Saturday’s match with a grade-one hamstring strain. Matos expects the midfielder to return after the international break, rather than for this weekend’s game.

Stephen Eustáquio is also out with a groin problem and has withdrawn from Canada duty. Swansea hope to have him available for West Brom on 21 November. Cameron Burgess and Ronald remain sidelined.
