Portsmouth vs Stoke injury news centres on a fresh setback for Marko Milovanović, with the Pompey striker ruled out of Saturday’s Championship match at Fratton Park.

John Mousinho is also awaiting clarity on Iyad Mohamed’s calf problem after both players came off against Swansea. Stoke, meanwhile, welcome Ethan Galbraith back from suspension but still have several injury absences.

The sides meet at 12.30pm GMT on Saturday 7 November, with selection decisions remaining before the final game ahead of the international break.

Marko Milovanović injury: Portsmouth striker ruled out

Milovanović, also known as Marezi, suffered a quad injury during Tuesday’s 3-1 win over Swansea. He pulled up while chasing a pass and was replaced by Thomas Waddingham.

Mousinho has confirmed that the striker will not face Stoke, although the length of his absence remains unclear.

“Marko went for a scan on a quad injury on Thursday and won’t be available,” the head coach said in Portsmouth’s official injury update.

Friday’s club preview said scan results were still awaited. There is therefore no confirmed return date, and the international break should not be treated as a guaranteed recovery window.

Iyad Mohamed awaits assessment after calf problem

Mohamed was also forced off against Swansea, with Marlon Pack replacing him early in the second half.

Mousinho believes the midfielder’s calf issue is less severe than Milovanović’s quad injury, but that does not confirm his availability for Saturday.

The News’ report on the two injury setbacks says Mohamed was initially withdrawn as a precaution and was also due to undergo a scan.

His status remains uncertain while Portsmouth assess the results. He should not yet be counted among the players cleared to face Stoke.

Portsmouth injury news: who else is missing?

Pompey have seven other players sidelined, according to the club’s match preview.

Stoke City injury news: five players expected to miss out

Friday’s report in The News on Mark Robins’ squad lists Sam Gallagher, Aaron Cresswell, Eric Bocat, Lamine Cissé and Ato Ampah as still unavailable.

Earlier previews described Gallagher and Cresswell as doubts. The later report says they remain out, with Robins explaining that recovering players still need time before they can return.

There are no confirmed comeback dates in that update. Robins expressed hope that some players would not be too far away after the international break.

Ethan Galbraith returns from suspension

Galbraith is available again after serving a one-match ban in Stoke’s 2-1 victory at Blackburn.

His return is a suspension update rather than an injury comeback. It gives Robins another midfield option, although a place in the starting XI has not been confirmed.

The official teams will establish the final selections before Saturday’s 12.30pm kick-off. Follow our Portsmouth vs Stoke match centre for matchday updates and our Championship coverage for more team news.
