Alex Scott: Bournemouth’s £100m January conditions – report

Bournemouth would reportedly consider selling Alex Scott in January if an offer meets their valuation of around £100m and their Premier League position allows them to approve his departure.

The Times reports that the Cherries have softened their stance after keeping the England midfielder off the market during the summer.

Scott’s contract runs until 2028, and the newspaper says attempts to agree an extension have so far been unsuccessful. Chelsea, who reportedly submitted summer bids above £60m, remain interested.

Alex Scott sale would depend on Bournemouth’s league position

The fee would not be the only consideration.

talkSPORT also reports that any January departure would depend on Bournemouth being well placed to retain their Premier League status, with Chelsea and Liverpool among the interested clubs.

That condition matters after a difficult start under Marco Rose. Bournemouth have taken three points from six league matches, with their latest defeat prompting Adrien Truffert to acknowledge problems following the 5–1 loss at Chelsea.

Scott missed that match after suffering a thigh injury while away with England. His absence has left Rose trying to improve results without one of his midfield options.

For Bournemouth supporters, the reported league-position condition is significant: a substantial offer alone would not necessarily persuade the club to sell during a relegation battle. The reports describe a possible route to a transfer, rather than an agreed January departure.
