Hull vs Ipswich confirmed line-ups see Gary O’Neil retain the side that drew with Nottingham Forest, with Emersonn leading the attack and Saša Lukić missing out as he continues his recovery from injury.

Jaden Philogene and Abdul Fatawu both start for the visitors, while Jack Clarke, Daizen Maeda and Zian Flemming are among the substitutes. Nobel Mendy is back in Hull’s starting XI.

Kick-off is at 3pm GMT on Saturday 31 October at the MKM Stadium. Our Hull vs Ipswich viewing guide explains the broadcast and highlights details.

Ipswich confirmed line-up: O’Neil keeps faith with Forest XI

Ipswich’s official team announcement confirms O’Neil has made no changes following the 1–1 draw with Forest.

Christian Walton starts in goal, with captain Dara O’Shea joined in defence by Abdoul Ouattara, Issa Diop and Leif Davis.

Florentino Luís partners Exequiel Palacios in midfield. Julio Enciso, Fatawu and Philogene support Emersonn, with Clarke again available from the bench.

Ipswich XI: Walton; Ouattara, Diop, O’Shea (c), Davis; Florentino, Palacios; Fatawu, Enciso, Philogene; Emersonn.

Substitutes: Scherpen, Furlong, Greaves, Matusiwa, Núñez, Clarke, Maeda, Akpom, Flemming.

Hull confirmed line-up: Mendy starts

Mendy’s inclusion settles one of Hull’s selection questions from the build-up. Our earlier Hull vs Ipswich injury updatereported that the defender had returned to contention following a groin problem.

The teams published in the Guardian’s matchday coverage also confirm starts for Lewie Coyle and Oli McBurnie. Lucas Herrington is among the substitutes. live

Hull XI: Tzolakis, Coyle, Ajayi, Egan, Mendy, Iroegbunam, Belloumi, Giles, Slater, McBurnie, Stroud.

Substitutes: Phillips, Morita, Gelhardt, McNair, Norton-Cuffy, Herrington, Crooks, Mouzakitis, Cho.

Why is Saša Lukić missing?

Ipswich say Lukić remains absent while recovering from injury. His omission means Florentino and Palacios continue together in midfield, with Azor Matusiwa and Marcelino Núñez among O’Neil’s alternatives.

The confirmed selection follows uncertainty over whether Lukić would be ready for the trip. He is not included in the starting XI or the nine-player bench.
