Daniel James will miss Leeds United’s trip to Arsenal with a back injury, but Harry Wilson and Jean-Mattéo Bahoya could be available.
Daniel James will miss Leeds United’s trip to Arsenal with a back injury, but Harry Wilson and Jean-Mattéo Bahoya could be available.
Daniel Farke confirmed the winger’s absence on Thursday after he returned from international duty with Wales.
Leeds visit the Emirates Stadium on Saturday for a 12.30pm BST kick-off, looking to extend an unbeaten Premier League start comprising two wins and three draws.
Leeds injury update: Wilson and Bahoya could return
Wilson resumed team training on Tuesday following a muscle injury. Bahoya returned to work on the pitch on Thursday after suffering an ankle strain while away with France Under-21s.
Neither has been cleared to play. Farke said their availability would depend on how they responded to training.
In his pre-match squad update, published by Leeds United through Yahoo Sports, Farke confirmed: “Daniel James will miss the Arsenal game, so he is out with a back injury.”
The possible returns of Wilson and Bahoya would give the Leeds manager more attacking options following James’ withdrawal.
Rodon still working towards return
Joe Rodon is making progress in his rehabilitation and has completed individual sessions on the pitch, but is not yet ready to resume team training.
Mateo Joseph also remains sidelined with a knee injury.
Leeds begin the weekend fifth, three points behind Arsenal. The lunchtime meeting opens a Premier League programme with several major selection questions following the international break.
