Declan Rice struck an 82nd-minute equaliser as Arsenal recovered to draw 2-2 at Bayern Munich in the Champions League, although their evening was clouded by an early injury to Bukayo Saka.
Eberechi Eze, introduced for Saka, put Arsenal ahead before Alphonso Davies equalised. Harry Kane’s second-half penalty then left Mikel Arteta’s side facing defeat until Rice combined with substitute Viktor Gyokeres to secure a point.
Arsenal remain unbeaten in this season’s league phase with seven points from three matches. Bayern have five.

Bayern Munich 2-2 Arsenal: Eze responds after Saka blow
Arteta had rewarded Noni Madueke with a start following his winner in Arsenal’s 1-0 victory at Nottingham Forest, while Jurrien Timber returned at right-back.
But his attacking plans required an early adjustment when Saka was unable to continue. The winger limped off after ten minutes, with Eze coming on from the bench.
Eze made his opportunity count in the 25th minute, meeting Martin Odegaard’s delivery to put Arsenal ahead. An initial offside decision was overturned following a VAR review.
The lead lasted ten minutes. Kane supplied the pass that released Davies, who finished past David Raya to bring Bayern level.
It was a reminder of Kane’s influence beyond the penalty area. His distribution opened up Arsenal’s defence and changed the direction of a half in which the visitors had taken the lead despite losing Saka.
Kane penalty puts Bayern ahead
Bayern threatened again after the interval, with Dayot Upamecano and Ismael Saibari having opportunities before Kane gave the hosts the advantage.
The striker’s shot struck Timber’s hand, bringing a penalty which Kane converted in the 61st minute.
Arsenal now needed a response away from home against opponents who had recovered from conceding first. Arteta turned to his bench again, and Gyokeres would make a decisive contribution.
Rice delivers late equaliser
With eight minutes of normal time remaining, Gyokeres supplied Rice, who finished to restore parity.
The contribution from another substitute was central to Arsenal’s recovery. Eze had scored after replacing Saka, and Gyokeres helped create the goal that ensured they left Munich with something.
The draw preserves a strong start following victories over Napoli and Lille, with a trip to Slavia Prague next in the competition on 4 November.
Arsenal return to Premier League action against Everton on Saturday. Attention will also turn to Saka’s condition, with no confirmed diagnosis or recovery timetable established in the updates available at the time of writing.
