Ellie Scotney injury forces world title fight withdrawal

Ellie Scotney has withdrawn from her WBC featherweight world title fight against Tiara Brown through injury, delaying her attempt to become a champion in a second division.

The Londoner was due to challenge Brown on November 8 at College Park Center in Arlington, Texas.

Most Valuable Promotions confirmed the withdrawal as it announced changes to the card. Its statement did not specify the injury or announce a rearranged date.

Ellie Scotney’s featherweight move put on hold

The contest would have been Scotney’s first at featherweight after she defeated Mayelli Flores in April to become undisputed super-bantamweight champion.

MVP co-founders Nakisa Bidarian and Jake Paul wished Scotney a speedy recovery and said they hoped to see both fighters return soon.

Scotney’s withdrawal leaves her next appearance unresolved, with the November event continuing under a revised line-up.

Ramla Ali fight moves up the card

Ramla Ali’s meeting with unbeaten Mikiah Kreps will now serve as the chief support. They will contest the vacant WBO and IBF super-bantamweight titles over ten rounds.

Alycia Baumgardner’s challenge against IBF lightweight champion Elif Nur Turhan remains the main event, with Sky Sports confirming UK coverage.

Irma Garcia and Nataly Delgado will also meet in a super-flyweight unification involving the IBF and WBA belts.
