Claressa Shields is in talks over a fight with Lauren Price in early 2027, according to her promoter Dmitriy Salita.
The proposed contest would bring together two Olympic gold medallists, with Shields recently returning to middleweight and Price holding unified world titles at welterweight.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Salita said: “It’s a fight Claressa is seriously interested in.”
Is Claressa Shields vs Lauren Price confirmed?
The fight has not been announced as a completed agreement. Sky’s report does not specify an agreed weight, date or venue.
Salita said Shields had attended one of Price’s fights earlier this year with the potential meeting in mind.
Shields most recently stopped Kaye Scott in the sixth round in Atlanta, claiming the WBA and WBC middleweight titles after moving down from heavyweight.
Price competes at welterweight professionally but won her Olympic gold at middleweight at the Tokyo Games in 2021.
That shared amateur background adds context to the proposed match-up, although the division in which they would meet remains unresolved.
