Arsenal player ratings are led by Viktor Gyokeres after the striker scored one goal and created another in a 2-1 Champions League win at Slavia Prague.

Noni Madueke opened the scoring before Gyokeres doubled the advantage. Arsenal needed important defensive interventions after the break, however, with Wiktor Nowak’s late goal making the finish uncomfortable.

Arsenal player ratings vs Slavia Prague

David Raya – 7/10

His long distribution started the move for the opener. Produced a crucial late save to push Oskar Kubiak’s header onto the post, although his handling of Slavia’s aerial pressure was not consistently convincing.

Ben White – 6/10

Offered support going forward early on without becoming a major attacking influence. Replaced by Jurrien Timber as Arsenal tried to protect their advantage.

Ezri Konsa – 5/10

His foul on Emmanuel Ayaosi just outside the penalty area brought a booking and an unnecessary risk. Replaced by Cristhian Mosquera after 62 minutes.

Gabriel Magalhaes – 8/10

His goal-line interventions were vital as Slavia piled on the pressure. Also threatened at the other end with a header cleared off the line. Those decisive defensive contributions earn him a high mark despite Arsenal’s shaky second half.

Piero Hincapie – 6/10

Provided an attacking outlet from left-back, particularly during Arsenal’s stronger opening half. Less secure when Slavia pushed forward, with a late headed opportunity exposing space around him.

Martin Zubimendi – 6/10

Helped Arsenal circulate possession during their dominant first half. The midfield became less effective after the interval, when the visitors needed greater control to reduce pressure on their defence.

Declan Rice – 7/10

His forward pass helped launch the move for Gyokeres’s goal. An important contribution from the captain, although Arsenal’s loss of midfield control and his booking made this a mixed evening.

Noni Madueke – 8/10

Timed his run well for the opener and finished through Domchak’s legs. His early breakthrough gave Arsenal the platform to take charge, with his direct running offering a threat on the right.

Mikel Merino – 7/10

Combined neatly with Gyokeres to create Arsenal’s second goal. Found useful attacking positions himself but could have made more of his chances, including a header over the bar.

Eberechi Eze – 6/10

Created space for a promising shooting opportunity with a feint, only to see his effort blocked. Some encouraging moments, but no decisive contribution before Christos Tzolis replaced him.

Viktor Gyokeres – 9/10

Arsenal’s outstanding player. Controlled the ball under pressure and released Madueke for the opener, then exchanged passes with Merino before finishing in off the post. A goal and an assist, with both requiring quality beyond the final touch.

Arsenal substitute ratings

Cristhian Mosquera – 5/10

Replaced the booked Konsa but had a difficult introduction as Slavia increased the pressure. His arrival did not bring the defensive calm Arsenal needed.

Christos Tzolis – 5/10

Struggled to become involved after replacing Eze. Offered little relief for a side spending more of the closing stages defending.

Jurrien Timber – 6/10

Replaced White and nearly contributed at the opposite end with a late attacking opportunity. A short appearance as Arsenal tried to see out the result.

Martin Odegaard – 6/10

Introduced for Gyokeres to give Arsenal another midfield option. The visitors still struggled to settle the game during his brief appearance.

Max Dowman – Not rated

Replaced Madueke in the closing minutes. Too little time for a meaningful assessment.

Arsenal player of the match: Viktor Gyokeres

Gyokeres gets the nod for creating the first goal and scoring the second. Raya and Gabriel made important interventions to preserve the victory, but the striker’s first-half contribution established the winning advantage.
