AI Dave aka All In Dave

Co-host · AI presenter

AI Dave is Dave.Sport's AI presenter: a quick-witted Londoner who's always all in on sport. He leads the show, reads the results and argues his corner in the big talking point. Every word he says is written with AI from the Dave.Sport newsroom's articles and official match data, then fact-checked; his voice is AI-generated. You'll also hear him calling the goals live in the AI Live Football Studio.

Jo Leaney a real person

Co-host · Director & Producer

Jo directs and produces the Dave.Sport Originals Daily Sports News Bulletin and co-hosts it every morning alongside AI Dave. A lifelong football fan and, for her sins, a West Ham supporter, she's a regular with the Hammers home and away, and swaps the Premier League for non-league football at Chatham Town whenever she can.

Full transcript

Good morning

AI Dave: Good morning! It's Thursday the fifteenth of October, and this is The Dave dot Sport Breakfast Show. I'm A.I. Dave!

Jo: And I'm Jo, still recovering from last night. Villa put six past Fenerbahce, Liverpool won six-three in Austria, and Man City got turned over by PSG.

AI Dave: Plus Lincoln were down to nine men inside twenty-three minutes. Stick with us!

The headlines

AI Dave: Let's start at Villa Park. Aston Villa six, Fenerbahce nil! Nicolas Jackson and Ross Barkley both scored twice, Manzambi opened it and Tammy Abraham got the sixth in the ninetieth minute.

Jo: Six! Six goals! And this came after Matty Cash said they needed to defend better following the Brentford draw. Clean sheet and a thrashing.

AI Dave: That's six points from two in the Champions League. Be honest, did you see that coming?

Jo: Not a chance. I'd have taken a nervy one-nil!

AI Dave: Over to Linz now. LASK three, Liverpool six, and Bradley Barcola got a hat-trick. Those were his first Liverpool goals!

Jo: And that's after Iraola backed him in the build-up. Great response to Sunday's defeat by City. But LASK scored three in the second half, so he'll have words about that.

AI Dave: Now the sore one. Man City two, PSG four. City were three down at half-time to Doué, Dembélé and Vitinha.

Jo: Three goals in thirty-two minutes. That's brutal. Haaland scored twice and passed Sergio Agüero as City's top scorer in Champions League history, but it wasn't enough.

AI Dave: Donnarumma saved a late penalty from Ferran Torres too. Is this a worry for Maresca, do you think?

Jo: Bit of one, yeah. He had to change three players at the break, and that tells you everything.

AI Dave: And Lincoln! Tom Hamer was sent off in the third minute and Conor McGrandles on twenty-three.

Jo: Nine men held out until the stroke of half-time, then West Ham scored five more. Souček got two off the bench. Lincoln nil, West Ham six!

Results round-up

AI Dave: Let's do the rest of the Champions League. Roma three, Real Madrid four.

Jo: Roma led three-one, with Donyell Malen scoring twice! Then Real Madrid scored in the eighty-third, eighty-fifth and ninetieth minutes.

AI Dave: Espí, Endrick and then Rüdiger with the winner. Madness!

Jo: Absolute scenes. Feyenoord three, Como two. Douvikas pulled one back for Como in the ninetieth minute, but it wasn't enough.

AI Dave: Real Betis three, Porto two, with Isco scoring a penalty in the eighty-fourth minute. Shakhtar three, AEK Athens one.

Jo: Bodø Glimt one, Borussia Dortmund nil, Sjøvold with the goal. And Slovan Bratislava nil, Stuttgart three.

AI Dave: Championship now. QPR four, Derby one. Portsmouth three, Sheffield United two, and Ebou Adams grabbed the winner in the eighty-ninth minute.

Jo: Sheffield United had Hamza Dewan Choudhury sent off just before half-time too, so that's a rough one. Norwich nil, Southampton one, Kuryu Matsuki with the goal.

The big talking point

AI Dave: Right, big debate. Player of the night. I'm all in on Barcola. Hat-trick, first Liverpool goals, pressure on him, boom.

Jo: Of course you're all in! Ross Barkley, two goals and an assist. He was involved in half of Villa's goals.

AI Dave: Okay, but a hat-trick! Under scrutiny, in the Champions League!

Jo: And Villa kept a clean sheet. Liverpool conceded three, Dave. Three!

AI Dave: Fine, but Barcola scored the goals that mattered. Can you name one Barkley goal as good as a hat-trick?

Jo: He had two goals and an assist. That beats one hat-trick, and I won't be told otherwise.

AI Dave: Haaland's going to be gutted we didn't pick him. Let us know who's right, listeners. It's Barcola, obviously.

Jo: It's Barkley. Dave's all in on everything, remember.

Around the sports

Jo: Rugby league time. The World Cup starts today, with Australia against New Zealand at ten oh five this morning on Premier Sports 2.

AI Dave: England start on Saturday against Tonga in Perth. They've lost Morgan Smithies to injury, and Kallum Watkins has been called up.

Jo: Boxing now. Fabio Wardley and Daniel Dubois have their WBO heavyweight rematch at The O2 on Saturday, live on DAZN. Dubois said Wardley punches like a baby, and Wardley's not happy.

AI Dave: Fair enough, he did knock him down twice in the first fight!

Jo: Darts, quickly. Beau Greaves won seventeen of twenty-four Women's Series events this year, with a ninety-eight point seven five average in one of them.

AI Dave: Ninety-eight point seven five! And Ellie Scotney has pulled out of her world title fight with Tiara Brown through injury.

On the box today

AI Dave: Right, tonight is a European night! Quarter to six, Lyon against Crystal Palace on TNT Sports 1, and Torreense against Sunderland on TNT Sports 2.

Jo: Both Palace and Sunderland won their openers. Palace beat Lech Poznan four-nil. Who've you got, Dave?

AI Dave: I'm all in on Palace. Sunderland to win as well.

Jo: Bold. At eight, Bournemouth host Sturm Graz on TNT Sports 1, Brighton host Kauno Žalgiris on TNT Sports 2, and Benfica against Celtic is on TNT Sports 3.

AI Dave: Hearts against Nordsjælland is on TNT Sports 4. Mansfield against Oxford in League One is on Sky Sports Main Event. Celtic lost their opener three-one to Ferencváros, so what are you saying there?

Jo: Benfica won away at Milan, so I'll say Benfica, sorry Celtic fans. And Bournemouth to bounce back after that Chelsea hammering!

Sign-off

AI Dave: That's the show! Everything we talked about is on dave dot sport, and the A.I. Live Football Studio has live scores tonight.

Jo: I'm Jo!

AI Dave: And I'm A.I. Dave. See you tomorrow!
