Michael Smith and Scott Williams have secured Dutch Darts Championship qualification.

In recent days, both players came through the ET15 Tour Card Holder Qualifier in Den Bosch. It was one of ten routes to Maastricht.

Smith fought back from 5-3 down against Connor Scutt, then beat David Sharp to confirm his spot. Williams needed three wins.

He capped his afternoon with a victory over top seed Mike De Decker, reaching his first European Tour event since March.

Michael Smith and Scott Williams Secure Dutch Darts Championship Places

Both players now head to the season’s final European Tour event.

Their routes through the bracket looked very different.

Smith’s path ran through two tough opponents in a single afternoon. Williams needed to see off three separate challengers, saving his best form for a top seed in De Decker.

PDC Qualifier Details Confirm Ten Tour Card Holders Advance

According to official PDC qualifier results, ten Tour Card holders advanced from Thursday’s event.

Alongside Smith and Williams, the successful players were Max Hopp, Ricardo Pietreczko, Nick Kenny, Callan Rydz, Stephen Burton, James Hurrell, Mickey Mansell and Owen Bates.

Pietreczko and Hopp beat notable names to confirm their places. Pietreczko defeated Mensur Suljovic.

Hopp saw off Daryl Gurney to return to the European Tour stage. Rydz, Burton, Hurrell, Mansell and Bates completed the ten qualifiers, each coming through the same afternoon of matches in Den Bosch.

Smith’s route was the toughest of the day. He trailed Scutt 5-3 before turning the match around. Then he held firm against Sharp to close it out. Full details on the players already locked into the field can be found in the confirmed seeds and entries for this year’s tournament.

Nick Kenny Dominates as Scott Williams Ends European Tour Drought

Nick Kenny was the standout performer of the qualifier. He conceded only three legs across three matches. He beat Ian White and Brendan Dolan, then closed out a 6-1 win over Peter Wright. It was total control, not a close contest.

Williams’ run carried its own weight. He had not featured on the European Tour since March. His win over De Decker, the top seed, ended that gap in style. Kraft and Gawlas were beaten earlier in the day. Three wins in total were needed to reach Maastricht.

Smith’s form this year has been closely tracked, a theme explored in Michael Smith’s recent ranking battles. Thursday’s result adds another data point to that story. The qualifier itself asked different questions of his game.

Maastricht Timeline and Final European Tour Preparation

The Dutch Darts Championship takes place in Maastricht from October 16 to 18.

It closes out the European Tour calendar for the year. Thursday’s Dutch Darts Championship qualification round settled the last of the Tour Card holder places, with the ten winners joining players already seeded into the draw.

Smith, Williams and the rest of the qualifiers now have three weeks to prepare. For Kenny, that means building on a near flawless qualifying run. For Williams, it means making the most of a rare European Tour outing.
