Glen Kamara could miss West Ham game as Finland challenge QPR over early return

Glen Kamara could miss QPR’s Championship visit to West Ham on Friday following a dispute over his early departure from Finland’s international camp.
The Finnish Football Association says it intends to raise the matter with Fifa after alleging that QPR pressured the midfielder to return before Finland’s final Nations League match against Belarus.
QPR manager Julien Stephan has acknowledged discussions between the club and the Finnish association, with Kamara’s availability still unresolved.
Finland question Kamara’s early return
According to Finnish broadcaster Yle, association general secretary Marco Casagrande said QPR wanted Kamara back before Friday’s match and arranged his return flight.
Casagrande said Finland believed the club had failed to comply fully with international release requirements. Any disciplinary decision would be for Fifa to make.
Yle reported that restrictions on club appearances following an international call-up could leave Kamara unavailable against West Ham if Fifa intervenes.
QPR await clarity before West Ham trip
Stephan said the discussions were taking place above coaching level.
“There is dialogue between the club and Finland federation which I am not involved in,” he said, as reported by The Sun.
QPR travel to the London Stadium on 9 October as the Championship programme resumes after the international break.
Kamara’s early return therefore leaves a selection question for Stephan, rather than providing certainty over his midfield options. His absence from Friday’s game has not been confirmed in the reports.
