He beat Luke Humphries 8-4 in Basel to claim his first ranking title since May 2025.

The PDPA’s tournament report confirms that Clayton’s victory earned him a Grand Slam place and lifted him above James Wade to fifth in the world rankings.
It also brought a £35,000 winner’s cheque and his fourth European Tour title.
Clayton converted 62% of his attempts at doubles in the final, compared with Humphries’ 22%, making his finishing decisive against the world number two.

When is the Grand Slam of Darts?
The Grand Slam takes place in Wolverhampton from 14–22 November, with live coverage on Sky Sports.
Clayton can now prepare knowing his place is secured, rather than leaving qualification to the remaining opportunities.
Sunday’s win therefore delivered more than an end to his wait for another ranking trophy. It added one of the season’s biggest tournaments to his schedule — and left the family holiday requiring a rethink.
