Newcastle introduced Yoane Wissa, Joelinton and Anthony Elanga at the interval, but Everton extended their advantage when Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall found Barry for the third goal in the 69th minute.

Burn headed Newcastle’s consolation in the 88th minute, but Everton had already established a decisive advantage, as confirmed in Everton’s official match report.

James Tarkowski captained a defence featuring Merlin Röhl, Jake O’Brien and Vitalii Mykolenko in front of Jordan Pickford. George and Dibling supported Barry from the flanks, with Hackney joining Garner and Dewsbury-Hall in midfield.
