Daniel Dubois has welcomed a potential fight with Tyson Fury as he prepares to defend his WBO heavyweight title against Fabio Wardley.

Dubois faces Wardley again on 17 October, having stopped his British rival to take the belt in May.

A second victory would strengthen his position in the division, with Fury among the opponents he would like to face next.

Dubois welcomes Fury showdown

“What a fight that would be,” Dubois told Sky Sports News.

“I’ve got to come through my next fight and anything’s possible.”

Both fighters work with promoter Frank Warren, although Dubois’s comments outline his ambitions rather than an agreed contest.

Wardley rematch comes before any Fury plans

Fury has his own assignment against Anthony Joshua on 11 December. Dubois, who knocked out Joshua in 2024, has backed Fury to win that meeting.

However, Wardley has the immediate opportunity to disrupt Dubois’s plans by reversing their first result.

For now, the champion’s priority remains retaining his title. Any discussion of a Fury fight depends on what happens in both men’s upcoming contests.
