Munguia is scheduled to defend his WBA super-middleweight belt, while Rafael Espinoza faces Lorenzo Parra for the WBO featherweight title.

The additions support Canelo Alvarez’s challenge against WBC super-middleweight champion Christian Mbilli.

The announced supporting bouts also include David Picasso against Carl Martin at super-bantamweight and Reito Tsutsumi against Raymundo Rojas.

Boxing News’ report on the full card confirms the match-ups for the Saudi Arabia event.

Munguia’s selection against Zon comes with his mandatory position still attracting attention.

The WBA previously ordered Munguia to face Bektemir Melikuziev, setting a negotiation deadline of 21 October.

Boxing News reports that Melikuziev says he has not agreed to step aside. The card announcement does not explain how that mandatory obligation has been resolved.

The supporting world-title contests are:

  • Jaime Munguia vs Nikita Zon — WBA super-middleweight title.
  • Rafael Espinoza vs Lorenzo Parra — WBO featherweight title.
