Nations Championship finals: When will England play and how do tickets work?

England will play at the Nations Championship finals weekend in November, but their match date and opponents will depend on where they finish in the northern hemisphere table.

All 12 countries will feature at Allianz Stadium, Twickenham, from 27-29 November, with two matches each day.

The Guardian reported on Wednesday that demand for South Africa and New Zealand team tickets had surpassed England’s.

For supporters arranging travel, the competition’s format makes the choice of ticket particularly important.

How do the Nations Championship finals work?

Each country faces the team finishing in the equivalent position in the opposite hemisphere’s table.

The two group winners meet for the title. The remaining teams contest matches to determine their final placings.

The schedule is:

• Friday 27 November: sixth v sixth at 4.40pm; third v third at 8.10pm.
• Saturday 28 November: fifth v fifth at 1.10pm; second v second at 4.40pm.
• Sunday 29 November: fourth v fourth at 1.10pm; first v first at 4.40pm.

All kick-off times are UK time.

When will England’s match be confirmed?

England host Australia on 8 November, Japan on 14 November and New Zealand on 21 November in their remaining pool fixtures.

The stadium’s ticket information says England’s finals date will be confirmed after the final pool round on 21 November.

Buying a Sunday ticket therefore does not guarantee seeing England. They would play that day if they finish first or fourth.

Which ticket should England supporters choose?

The tournament offers day tickets, multi-day packages and a “Support Your Team” option.

The team option guarantees attendance on the day the selected country plays, regardless of its finishing position.

Supporters can compare options through the official Nations Championship finals page. Check the package details carefully: standard match tickets and hospitality have separate prices and availability.
