Scotland vs New Zealand viewing guide with UK kick-off time and ITV and STV coverage

What happened when Scotland last played New Zealand?

Scotland lost 25–17 at Murrayfield on 8 November 2025, despite fighting back from a 17–0 half-time deficit.

The hosts drew level before the final quarter, but substitute Damian McKenzie helped New Zealand regain control and secure the victory.

It followed another close meeting in Edinburgh in 2022, when Scotland led 23–14 going into the last quarter before losing 31–23.

Those games provide the backdrop to Saturday’s return: Scotland have put themselves in winning positions against the All Blacks at Murrayfield, only to see the visitors finish more strongly.

Scotland’s November Nations Championship fixtures

New Zealand are the first visitors in a three-match programme at Scottish Gas Murrayfield. Australia follow eight days later, before Scotland host Japan on the final weekend of the league phase.

How does the Nations Championship work?

The competition links the July and November international windows. Saturday’s match continues the championship that began in the summer rather than starting a separate autumn tournament.

Teams compete in two hemisphere tables. Once the November rounds are complete, each side faces the corresponding team from the other table during finals weekend in London.

The two table leaders meet for the title, while the remaining teams contest the other placing matches. Finals weekend takes place from 27–29 November at Allianz Stadium, Twickenham.

Scotland’s results against New Zealand, Australia and Japan will therefore help determine both their final position and their opponent in London.
