Ryan Garcia says an offer to fight Floyd Mayweather is on the table, but insists he would only accept a professional contest.

The WBC welterweight champion responded after FightHype reported that talks were underway between the two camps.

Writing on X, in comments reproduced by Boxing News, Garcia said Mayweather had initiated contact and ruled out an exhibition.

“I’m ready Floyd, remember you made this call. I’m just returning the favor. Offer is on the table.”

Ryan Garcia wants Mayweather’s record at stake

Garcia made clear that he wanted any meeting to count towards Mayweather’s professional record.

Mayweather, 49, retired from professional boxing with a 50–0 record after beating Conor McGregor in 2017. He has since taken part in exhibition contests.

A sanctioned professional return would put that unbeaten record at risk.

Garcia’s comments follow his stoppage victory over Conor Benn, with talkSPORT reporting that he is also considering a future unification bout against Teofimo Lopez.

Has Garcia v Mayweather been confirmed?

No agreement or fight date has been announced in the reports.

Garcia’s public offer establishes his interest and preferred terms, but does not confirm that Mayweather has accepted them.

The distinction remains significant: reported discussions and a challenge on social media are several steps short of an agreed professional contest.
