PDC Fantasy Darts Opens for Leicester World Grand Prix

PDC Fantasy Darts has launched ahead of the 2026 BOYLE Sports World Grand Prix, the PDC has confirmed. The game opens to fans building an eight-player squad before the tournament gets under way at Leicester’s Mattioli Arena.

The World Grand Prix runs from September 28 to October 4, with a 32-player field competing across the week. Fantasy managers can register a squad now and follow its progress as the tournament unfolds.

PDC Details Official Squad Rules and World Grand Prix Setup

The PDC has set out exact rules for team selection. Every fantasy squad must include one Luke, three Favourites, two Outsiders and two Long Shots, eight players in total.

That structure forces managers to balance the biggest names against players given less chance by the seeding. Getting the Outsiders and Long Shots right could prove decisive over the course of the week.

Prizes await the top performers on the global leaderboard. The PDC confirmed that the top three fantasy managers worldwide will receive a signed Nathan Aspinall shirt, a set of Gerwyn Price darts and a set of Winmau Firestorm darts.

Squad Impact & Tactical Context

Fantasy points in PDC Fantasy Darts will follow the same knockout pressure that defines the World Grand Prix itself, where sets are won in a race to two legs rather than the usual best of three. That format has produced upsets before, which is exactly why the PDC builds a Long Shots category into every squad. Managers who ignore it risk missing out if a lower seed runs deep into the week.

The World Grand Prix sits inside a busy autumn calendar for darts. Fans wanting the wider picture can check our confirmed European tour entries for context on who else is in form, while our preview for the World Series finals looks at how the year’s rankings could settle.

Picking the right Favourites matters just as much as filling the Long Shots slots. One early exit can wreck a squad’s points total for the whole tournament.

What Happens Next / Upcoming Timeline

Fantasy managers get four transfers to use across the tournament, split into two windows. The first opens after round one concludes on Tuesday, September 29.

A second window follows after round two, opening on Thursday, October 1. It gives managers a final chance to freshen up their squad before the closing stages in Leicester.

Those two windows are the only chances to reshape a struggling squad before the World Grand Prix concludes on October 4.
