Daichi Kamada takes the highest mark in our Crystal Palace player ratings after his stoppage-time equaliser rescued a 1-1 draw with Hoffenheim at Selhurst Park.
Alexander Prass put the visitors ahead after seven minutes, and Adam Wharton’s second yellow card left Palace chasing the game with 10 men. Kamada’s late finish salvaged a point, with Tyrick Mitchell providing the knockdown.
Pierre Sage had restored fit-again Quinten Timber to his midfield, but the hosts again struggled to make their possession count.
Crystal Palace player ratings: starting XI
Dean Henderson — 5/10
Should have kept out Prass’ shot. His subsequent save from Andrej Kramaric helped keep Palace in contention, but the opening error was costly.
Jaydee Canvot — 6/10
Booked before half-time and had to manage the rest of the game carefully. Part of a defence repeatedly tested on the break.
Chris Richards — 6/10
A demanding night in the back three as Hoffenheim threatened in transition. Palace stayed within one goal, but the defensive unit lacked control.
Honest Ahanor — 5/10
Booked, then lost possession in his own area to give Hoffenheim another opening. An avoidable scare before his withdrawal.
Anan Khalaili — 6/10
Started at wing-back but made way for Mingueza after 55 minutes. His opportunity ended with Palace still searching for a response.
Quinten Timber — 6/10
Completed 55 minutes on his return to the starting side. Replaced by Nketiah as Sage looked for a more attacking solution.
Adam Wharton — 4/10
Created a clear opening for Pino, but two bookings left Palace a man short. The dismissal outweighed that important attacking contribution.
Tyrick Mitchell — 7/10
His late knockdown supplied Kamada’s equaliser. That contribution earns him extra credit on a difficult evening for the team.
Daichi Kamada — 8/10
Our Palace player of the match. Kept the game alive with the stoppage-time finish that rescued a point. The decisive intervention when defeat looked likely.
Yéremy Pino — 7/10
Denied by Baumann from a clear chance, but his late cross helped create the equaliser. Enough attacking influence to offset the missed opportunity.
Jean-Philippe Mateta — 5/10
Unable to provide the breakthrough Palace needed before being substituted. A frustrating night for the striker as the hosts chased an early deficit.
Crystal Palace substitute ratings
Eddie Nketiah — 5/10
Introduced for Timber to add another attacking option. Picked up a booking and could not supply the goal Palace needed.
Óscar Mingueza — 6/10
Replaced Khalaili after 55 minutes. Saw out the difficult closing stages after Wharton’s dismissal, without a decisive attacking contribution.
Dwight McNeil — 6/10
A late attacking change for Ahanor. His short appearance coincided with Palace’s final push, though he had no direct goal contribution.
Darío Osorio — 6/10
Replaced Mateta in the closing stages. Limited time to make an impression as Palace searched for their equaliser.
Unused substitutes: Walter Benítez, Lucca Benetton, Jørgen Strand Larsen, Sebastian Williams and Nathanael James Kalembo.
