Predictor League rules and terms

The Dave.Sport Predictor League is a free game: predict the scores, climb the tables, win prizes. These rules apply to every gameweek. A specific competition (for example a launch competition) may have its own terms as well, and where they differ, that competition’s terms apply. The Predictor is run by SumLou Limited (company number 16964433), trading as dave.sport.

It’s free, and it is not gambling

• The Predictor is free to play. You never pay to enter, to make picks or to win, and nothing you can buy improves your chances.
• There are no stakes, odds or wagers. Winners are decided by skill (how well you predict), and prizes are given by us. That makes it a free prize competition, not gambling.
• We do not show betting adverts or betting odds in the Predictor.

Who can play

• You must be 18 or over to play the Predictor League and to win prizes.
• Prizes are for UK residents unless a competition says otherwise.
• One account per person. Fake, duplicate or automated accounts are removed, with their points and any prizes.
• Employees of SumLou Limited and their immediate families can play but cannot win prizes.

When you can predict

• Predictions for a gameweek open 2 days before the first match of that gameweek kicks off. The exact opening time is shown in the Predictor.
• You can change your picks as often as you like until the first match kicks off.
• When the first match of the gameweek kicks off, the gameweek closes. No new entries or changes are accepted after that, for any match in that gameweek.

Points

• 3 points for the exact score.
• 1 point for the right result (home win, draw or away win) without the exact score.
• 0 points for a wrong result.
• Banker: choose one match each gameweek as your banker. Its points are doubled (6 for an exact score, 2 for the right result).
• 5 points for each player you pick who scores in that match (any goal in normal or stoppage time, not own goals).
• 10 points for each player you pick who gets a yellow card in that match. A straight red does not count; a second yellow does.
• 20 points if you predict the exact total number of goals scored across all the gameweek’s fixtures combined (own goals count, postponed matches do not).
• The banker doubles the score points for that match only, not the scorer, card or total-goals points.
• Scores are the official result at full time, including stoppage time but not extra time or penalties.
• If a match is postponed, abandoned or moved outside the gameweek, it scores no points for anyone.

The Dave National League

• Every player is entered automatically into the Dave National League, the table of all players across dave.sport. Prizes are awarded from this table.
• You are also ranked against fans of your club and in any Squads you belong to.
• Prizes for each gameweek (and any season or monthly prizes) are announced in the Predictor before that gameweek opens.

If there is a tie: the prize rolls over

• If two or more players finish level on points at the top of a gameweek, that gameweek’s prize rolls over.
• Only the tied players stay in the race for it. They compete again in the next gameweek, and whichever of them scores the most points in that gameweek wins the rolled-over prize. Their entry to the next gameweek counts for that week’s own prizes as normal too.
• If they are still level, it rolls over again, until there is a single winner.
• If a tie cannot be settled before the end of the season, the winner is drawn at random from the tied players.
• A tie for a lower prize (for example 2nd place) is settled the same way.

Squads and mates’ leagues

• Squads are private leagues you create with friends. Squad tables are for fun and bragging rights.
• From time to time we may give prizes to Squads, for example to the most active Squads or to Squad captains to hand out. Any such prize, and how it is won, is announced before it starts.

Winners and prizes

• We contact winners by the email on their account within 7 days. If a winner does not reply within 14 days, or does not meet these rules, the prize passes to the next eligible player.
• We may ask for proof of age, address and identity before giving a prize.
• Prizes are as described, with no cash alternative. Travel and other costs are not included. Match tickets are subject to the club’s own conditions.
• Winners’ first names and counties are available on request, and we may publish them unless the winner objects.

Your data in the Predictor

• We store your account details (name, email, age you give us, club), your predictions, points and rankings, your Squads, and how you use dave.sport while signed in: the stories you open, swipe and vote on, the clubs, sports and writers you follow, your Dave Card details and XP.
• We use this to run the game, work out results and prizes, keep it fair, and personalise your feed.
• We also use your interests to choose which offers, promotions and partner products we show you on dave.sport, including inside the Predictor. We do not show betting offers.
• We only send you marketing emails if you said yes to them, and you can change that at any time in My Dave settings. You can download or delete your data at any time from My Dave. Full details are in our privacy policy.

Fair play

• We may remove points, prizes or accounts for cheating, using multiple accounts, automation, or abusing the game.
• We may change these rules for future gameweeks. Changes are shown here before the gameweek they apply to opens.
• The Predictor is not run, sponsored or endorsed by the Premier League, any competition or any club.
• These rules are governed by the law of England and Wales.
