Pedro Porro is available for Tottenham’s trip to Chelsea, but Roberto De Zerbi remains uncertain whether James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski will be ready to feature at Stamford Bridge.
Andy Robertson, Omar Marmoush and Dominic Solanke are also available for Saturday’s derby. Destiny Udogie remains out, leaving Robertson as an option on the left of defence.
“Pedro is back, Robertson is available, Marmoush is good, Solanke is good,” De Zerbi said at his pre-match press conference, as reported by Hayters.
Porro available after hamstring absence
Porro has been sidelined since suffering a hamstring injury against Aston Villa. Tottenham published pictures of the defender back in training on Thursday, with De Zerbi subsequently confirming his availability.
His return restores a specialist right-back option, although being available does not guarantee a place in the starting XI.
Robertson’s fitness is also significant following his withdrawal against Coventry. With Udogie unavailable, De Zerbi can call on the Scotland international rather than having to replace both first-choice options on that side.
Why Maddison and Kulusevski remain doubts
Maddison and Kulusevski both featured in Tottenham’s 3–1 win over Coventry, but their involvement on Monday has not settled their availability for Chelsea.
According to The Standard’s report of Friday’s press conference, Maddison did not train with the group during the first three days after that match. Kulusevski worked individually on the first day afterwards, although De Zerbi said he had subsequently trained well.
The manager stressed his reluctance to risk losing players for a longer period. His comments leave both players awaiting a decision; they do not establish a fresh injury diagnosis for either.
That distinction matters after an encouraging evening against Coventry. Maddison opened the scoring, while Kulusevski returned from the bench. Tottenham must now judge how much either can contribute five days later.
Udogie out as Tottenham prepare for Stamford Bridge
Udogie’s absence follows the knee problem that kept him out against Coventry. Our Udogie injury report explains De Zerbi’s earlier assessment.
Porro’s return and Robertson’s availability give Tottenham clearer defensive options. The remaining uncertainty concerns how De Zerbi builds his attack if Maddison or Kulusevski cannot take part.
Chelsea host Tottenham on Saturday 24 October, with kick-off at 5.30pm BST. The match is live on Sky Sports Premier League and Sky Sports Main Event, as confirmed in Tottenham’s official match guide.
