Raphinha will miss Barcelona’s next two matches, with Hansi Flick ruling the Brazilian out of the meetings with Getafe and Galatasaray.
Barcelona host Getafe in La Liga on Saturday before travelling to Turkey for Tuesday’s Champions League fixture.
Flick confirmed the absences at his Friday press conference, leaving Barcelona to adjust their attack as club football resumes after the international break.
Which games will Raphinha miss?
The forward will be unavailable for:
- Barcelona vs Getafe — Saturday 10 October, La Liga.
- Galatasaray vs Barcelona — Tuesday 13 October, Champions League.
Spanish news agency EFE reported Flick’s confirmation that Raphinha would miss both fixtures.
The decision should not be treated as confirmation of a lengthy lay-off. Flick has outlined a cautious approach, and a return date beyond those two matches has not been confirmed.
Gabriel Jesus could start against Getafe
Raphinha’s absence could create an opportunity for Gabriel Jesus, with Flick confirming the forward is in contention to start on Saturday.
“He’s improved a lot and adapted to our style,” Flick said in Barcelona’s official press-conference summary.
A starting place remains subject to the team selection. Barcelona’s confirmed line-up will establish how Flick reshapes his attack without Raphinha.
