Manchester City need to halt a run of two Premier League defeats when they visit a Nottingham Forest side struggling to turn chances into goals.

Nottingham Forest vs Man City takes place at the City Ground on Saturday 7 November 2026, with kick-off at 5.30pm GMT.

City seek a league response after Leipzig win

Enzo Maresca’s side beat RB Leipzig 3-2 in the Champions League on Wednesday, with Erling Haaland scoring the winner. Their last two league games brought defeats against Aston Villa and Brighton.

City can expect a different challenge at the City Ground. Forest may be willing to concede territory, but leaving Haaland isolated against a retreating defence would be a dangerous trade.

Forest need more from their possession

The pre-match record shows Forest with six goals from their first nine league matches. Their lack of end product gives Morgan Gibbs-White’s use of the ball particular importance.

For Oliver Glasner’s side, the first forward pass after winning possession could be decisive. Holding the ball long enough to bring the wing-backs into play would make City defend a wider area instead of immediately starting another attack.

Dave.sport prediction

Nottingham Forest 1-2 Man City. We favour the visitors’ finishing quality, although Forest can make this competitive if their counterattacks produce chances rather than simply relieve pressure.
