Kaya Baysal has withdrawn from the Junior World Darts Championship in Gibraltar after switching his sporting allegiance from England to Turkey.
According to talkSPORT, the 16-year-old announced his decision in a statement on X.
Baysal said the change meant he could no longer represent England and that he had decided against returning for the individual events.
Kaya Baysal adds to breakthrough season
The announcement follows another successful weekend for Baysal on the PDC Development Tour.
He won Event 24 in Wigan on Sunday as the season concluded, with Henry Coates taking Event 23 and Sebastian Bialecki finishing top of the rankings, Darts World reported.
Baysal also won the JDC Winmau World Masters in February, beating Mitchell Lawrie in the final in Milton Keynes.
That victory reversed their result in the previous Junior World Championship final and added to his growing record in youth darts.
