Jack Conan Injury: Leinster Blow Before Munster Clash

Jack Conan will miss Leinster’s United Rugby Championship meeting with Munster on Saturday after suffering a shoulder injury, according to RTÉ.

Jamison Gibson-Park’s availability also remains uncertain as the scrum-half continues his recovery from a groin problem.

Conan was injured during Leinster’s 48-23 Champions Cup victory at Clermont, leaving the field after scoring in the second half.

Jack Conan injury requires further assessment

Leinster’s medical update, reported by RugbyPass, confirmed the shoulder problem and said Conan required further assessment.

No recovery timeframe was provided, leaving his availability for Ireland’s November fixtures unresolved.

His absence adds to Leinster’s back-row concerns with captain Caelan Doris already sidelined. The timing also gives Andy Farrell another fitness question before naming his squad for the Nations Championship.

Gibson-Park faces late Munster decision

Gibson-Park has resumed some training but has yet to make his first appearance of the season.

“Jamison is not training fully, but he is back,” assistant coach Tyler Bleyendaal said in comments reported by RTÉ.

Bleyendaal explained that the scrum-half had been involved on Monday, having also done some work last week. Leinster will assess how he feels closer to Saturday before making a selection decision.

Jordan Larmour is also being assessed as he reintegrates into training following a calf injury.

Leinster and Munster return from European wins

The provinces meet on Saturday 24 October after both opened their Champions Cup campaigns with victories.

Leinster pulled away from Clermont after trailing at half-time, while Munster beat Racing 92 33-25, with Craig Casey’s late try securing the result.

Leinster’s preparations now include finding a replacement for Conan and determining whether Gibson-Park is ready to return.
