Chelsea made the breakthrough through Baltimore just before the half-hour mark. Their advantage lasted only five minutes, with Bronze’s own goal in the 33rd minute bringing Everton back into the match, as recorded by Sky Sports’ match coverage.
The teams went into half-time level at 1-1, and that remained the score at the final whistle. Chelsea took a point from their return to Stamford Bridge after beating Charlton Athletic 6-0 in their previous league outing.
Chelsea play without injured Lauren James
Bompastor was without Lauren James, who has a hamstring injury. Melvine Malard started alongside an attacking supporting cast of Manaka Matsukubo, Wieke Kaptein and Baltimore.
Erin Cuthbert captained Chelsea, with Keira Walsh also starting in midfield. Hannah Hampton was in goal, while Ellie Carpenter, Kadeisha Buchanan, Bronze and Katie McCabe completed the starting side.
Lexi Potter was named among the substitutes after returning to contention. Chelsea’s bench also included Alyssa Thompson, Sjoeke Nusken and Aggie Beever-Jones.
Everton take a point at Stamford Bridge
Everton were captained by goalkeeper Courtney Brosnan, with Yui Hasegawa absent from the starting team.
The visitors recovered quickly after falling behind and kept the score level throughout the second half. Their draw follows a goalless league meeting with Manchester United, giving them consecutive WSL draws.
What the result means for Chelsea
Chelsea have dropped points for the second time in the league this season. They remain unbeaten, but the draw ends a run of seven consecutive WSL victories following their opening-day draw with Aston Villa.
With Manchester City due to visit next weekend, Chelsea’s next league fixture offers an immediate opportunity to respond against a title rival.
