Evanilson leads our Bournemouth player ratings after influencing every decisive moment of the 2-0 win over Sunderland.

The striker created Marcus Tavernier’s opener, drew the foul that led to Kevin Danso’s dismissal and punished Omar Alderete’s backpass to score the second. Marco Rose’s first Premier League victory owed plenty to his centre-forward’s alertness.

How we rate: these are Dave.Sport’s editorial marks, out of 10, based on recorded match events and post-match reporting.

Evanilson — 9: Created the opening goal and was the player Sunderland could not handle when Danso was dismissed. His anticipation and composed finish for the second completed a match-winning contribution.

Marcus Tavernier — 8: Took advantage of Evanilson’s delivery to head Bournemouth ahead after six minutes. An early goal that immediately put Sunderland under pressure.

James Hill — 7.5: His long ball preceded the incident that brought Danso’s red card. Helped Bournemouth keep a clean sheet as Sunderland struggled to create.

Djordje Petrović — 6.5: A relatively quiet afternoon. Sunderland managed only three attempts, so the clean sheet did not require a heavily tested goalkeeper to rescue his side.

Robin Roefs — 7.5: Sunderland’s strongest performer. His saves prevented the defensive errors ahead of him from producing an even heavier defeat.

Kevin Danso — 2: Involved in the failure to deal with the opening goal, then lost control of the ball before bringing down Evanilson. His dismissal left Sunderland with ten men from the 17th minute.

Omar Alderete — 3: Another difficult performance at the heart of the defence. His underhit backpass handed Evanilson the opportunity to double Bournemouth’s lead.

Nordi Mukiele — 6: Offered more resistance than his fellow defenders, making blocks as Bournemouth continued to attack.

Tymur Tutierov — 5: Left isolated by the early dismissal. The circumstances made this a particularly difficult assignment for Sunderland’s young forward.

Substitutes: Luke O’Nien 6 (59), Habib Diarra 6 (59), Jules Ahoka 6 (66).

Diarra offered a more threatening moment with a ball across goal, while O’Nien helped Sunderland get through the remainder without conceding again.
