Andrew Gilding

Andrew Gilding, known as Goldfinger, is an English darts player from Earsham in Norfolk who competes on the PDC tour. Born in Earsham on 7 December 1970, he was 27th on the PDC Order of Merit when the rankings were last published on 2 November 2026, with £353,000 in ranking prize money over the two-year period the list covers. The PDC credits him with two senior titles: the 2023 UK Open and Players Championship 16 in 2026. He took the nickname because he played with a set of Phil Taylor's golden darts and partly because of his surname.

Gilding first reached the semi-finals of the UK Open in 2015, beating Mensur Suljovic 10-8 in the quarter-finals before losing 10-8 to Michael van Gerwen. He won the event in 2023, beating Martin Schindler 10-4 in the quarter-finals and Adam Gawlas 11-6 in the semi-finals before defeating Van Gerwen 11-10 in the final for his first PDC title. He has twice reached the quarter-finals of the World Matchplay, losing 16-10 to Van Gerwen in 2024 and 16-14 to Luke Littler in 2025. On the Pro Tour he lost seven ranking finals, among them the 2022 Belgian Darts Open against Dave Chisnall and the 2025 European Darts Grand Prix against Gary Anderson, before winning Players Championship 16 in May 2026 with an 8-3 victory over Jonny Clayton.

In the autumn of 2026 he lost 2-1 in sets to Stephen Bunting in the first round of the World Grand Prix and 6-3 to Stefan Bellmont at the Swiss Darts Trophy. He beat Max Hopp 6-5 at the Dutch Darts Championship before losing 6-1 to Luke Woodhouse, and lost 6-4 to Gian van Veen in the first round of the European Championship. The PDC records three nine-dart finishes for him across all of its events. He throws 25-gram Cosmo darts and walks on to "Gold" by Spandau Ballet.
