Tottenham vs Coventry: Kulusevski return offers Spurs lift amid fresh injury blows

Dejan Kulusevski is set to return to Tottenham’s matchday squad against Coventry after more than 500 days out, with Roberto De Zerbi confirming he plans to name the midfielder on the bench.

The Sweden international last featured against Crystal Palace on 11 May 2025 and has been sidelined by a knee injury since then.

His return provides welcome encouragement for Spurs, although fresh injuries have further reduced De Zerbi’s options.

What De Zerbi said about Dejan Kulusevski

“Yes, Kulusevski on the bench. We had a meeting with the medical staff, they gave the okay and it’s great news,” De Zerbi said in his pre-match press conference.

The manager also described telling Kulusevski after training that medical clearance had arrived. He spoke about the midfielder’s smile and how much he had endured during his recovery.

A place among the substitutes opens the possibility of a competitive comeback, although it does not guarantee an appearance.

Tottenham injury news: Savio, Bergvall and Porro

Savio faces several weeks out with a muscular problem. Lucas Bergvall is expected to miss around two weeks after experiencing knee pain against Manchester United.

Pedro Porro misses Coventry but could return against Chelsea. Mykhailo Mudryk, Xavi Simons and Wilson Odobert remain unavailable.

Rodrigo Bentancur begins a three-match suspension following his dismissal at Old Trafford.

Where Tottenham and Coventry stand

Tottenham are bottom of the Premier League table with three points and no wins from six matches.

Coventry sit 16th on six points after beating Newcastle 4-1. Frank Lampard’s side remain without injured forward Haji Wright.
