Elisabeth Terland leads our predicted Manchester United attack at Charlton, with Lea Schüller being assessed after illness during the international break.
The WSL fixture takes place at The Valley on Sunday 18 October 2026, kicking off at 2pm BST.
Manchester United team news: Schüller assessed
United’s latest squad update identifies Schüller’s illness as a consideration for Eva Olid, who is also checking players returning from international duty.
Jayde Riviere has been working towards a return after missing games since the opening weekend, while Emma Watson has also been sidelined. Fridolina Rolfö is unavailable during pregnancy, and Celin Bizet Dønnum is working back following childbirth.
Our prediction uses Terland up front and gives Monica Jusu Bah an opportunity in the attacking line. Jusu Bah’s recent involvement, including a goal, is documented in Durham’s report of their cup meeting with United.
Charlton team news and likely approach
Charlton’s proposed team retains the core of their most recent league selection, recorded in the Brighton–Charlton team sheet. A comprehensive fresh Charlton injury update was not available at the time of writing.
Emily van Egmond and Lois Davidson are our midfield choices, with Ludovica Azzaro leading the attack.
Charlton Athletic vs Manchester United predicted lineups
Charlton Athletic predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Whitehouse; Neville, N’Dow, Cissoko, Lobato; Van Egmond, Davidson; Flannery, Hutton, Korhonen; Azzaro.
Manchester United predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Tullis-Joyce; Lundkvist, Le Tissier, Janssen, Sandberg; Miyazawa, Awujo; Jusu Bah, Toone, Park; Terland.
The selection decisions to watch
Schüller could alter the attacking picture if cleared. Ella Toone and Jess Park are selected to support Terland, while Charlton’s first task would be to prevent United’s attacking midfielders receiving with time to turn.
These are our predicted teams, not confirmed starting lineups. Fitness assessments, international workloads and tactical decisions can change the selections before kick-off.
