Crystal Palace predicted lineup vs Lyon: Disasi return gives Sage a decision

Crystal Palace’s predicted lineup against Lyon includes a return for Axel Disasi as Pierre Sage prepares for Thursday’s Europa League trip.

Jean-Philippe Mateta, Dean Henderson, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Ben Chilwell will miss the match, leaving Sage with several selection restrictions for his return to Lyon.

Crystal Palace predicted lineup vs Lyon

Our prediction, 3-4-2-1: Benítez; Richards, Disasi, Canvot; Khalaili, Wharton, Timber, Mitchell; Kamada, Pino; Strand Larsen.

This is our expected starting XI. The confirmed team will be announced before kick-off.

Crystal Palace team news

Disasi is available following his domestic suspension, giving Palace another option in the back three. Chadi Riad remains a longer-term absentee.

Sage addressed the squad’s availability in his pre-match press conference. Supporters can also check UEFA’s registered squad list, which is separate from the confirmed matchday XI.

Why we have picked this XI

Our main change from Sunday’s win over Nottingham Forest is Disasi coming into defence, with Chris Richards and Jaydee Canvot retaining their places.

That would be a decision at Jefferson Lerma’s expense despite his goal against Forest. We have kept the attacking combination of Daichi Kamada, Yeremy Pino and Jørgen Strand Larsen after Kamada and Pino also scored in the 3–1 victory. Adam Wharton and Quinten Timber are our midfield pairing, with Anan Khalaili and Tyrick Mitchell providing the width.
