Sunderland predicted lineup vs Torreense: Brobbey returns as Isidor faces fitness question

Sunderland have Brian Brobbey and Habib Diarra back in their travelling squad for Thursday’s Europa League match against Torreense, giving Régis Le Bris more options after their recent injury absences.

The centre-forward position remains the main question in our Sunderland predicted lineup. Wilson Isidor missed Wednesday’s training session, while Brobbey is only just returning to contention. Neither player’s inclusion in the starting XI should be treated as confirmed.

Sunderland predicted lineup vs Torreense

Our prediction, 4-2-3-1: Roefs; Hume, Mukiele, Danso, Methalie; Xhaka, Sadiki; Fofana, Le Fée, Angulo; Isidor.

Isidor’s selection is conditional on fitness. Brobbey provides an alternative if Le Bris decides he is ready to start.

Sunderland team news

Brobbey and Diarra’s returns improve Sunderland’s options, although substitute appearances may be the more cautious route back. Dan Ballard and Romaine Mundle remain unavailable, while Thomas Meunier is a doubt.

The latest pre-match injury assessment also highlights Isidor’s absence from training. That leaves the attacking selection less settled than the midfield.

Why we have picked this XI

Our prediction retains Granit Xhaka and Noah Sadiki together, with Enzo Le Fée operating ahead of them. All three started in Sunderland’s last league lineup against Brighton.

Malick Fofana is our choice to replace Meunier if the Belgian is unavailable, while Dayann Methalie gets the nod ahead of Reinildo at left-back.

The match kicks off at 5.45pm UK time on Thursday 15 October in Leiria, with live coverage on TNT Sports 2. Check our football on TV guide and follow the rest of our European football coverage.
