Swansea City have condemned alleged racist abuse directed at Jisung Eom during their 1-0 Championship victory at Millwall.

Tuesday’s match at The Den was stopped in the second half after Swansea reported the allegation to the officials.

Referee Edward Duckworth halted play in the 65th minute, with the interruption lasting almost seven minutes while discussions took place with both benches.

Ronald later scored the winner for Swansea.

Swansea support Eom after reported abuse

In an official club statement, Swansea confirmed they had reported an alleged incident involving the South Korea international.

The club condemned racism and discrimination and thanked the match officials, Millwall and the police for their response.

“We stand with Jisung, and he has our unstinting love and support,” the statement said.

Swansea added that they would follow the relevant procedures and assist those investigating the incident.

Managers address interruption

Millwall manager Alex Neil described the alleged abuse as unacceptable after the match.

Swansea boss Vitor Matos confirmed that the complaint had been passed to the fourth official and praised the handling of the situation, including the stadium announcement.

Play resumed following the stoppage, with Ronald’s late goal deciding the contest.

The allegation remains under investigation.
