Tony Bloom stands by Hearts title ambition before Celtic return

Tony Bloom says he would be disappointed if Hearts fail to win the Scottish Premiership within his original 10-year timeframe, as the club prepare to return to Celtic Park on Sunday.

The Hearts investor reaffirmed his ambition in an interview with Sky Sports, published on Monday evening.

“I’d be really disappointed if Hearts have not won the Scottish Premiership within the 10 years,” Bloom said.

Hearts lost last season’s title race on the final day, when Celtic came from behind to beat them and finish top.

A summer of change followed. Head coach Derek McInnes, captain Lawrence Shankland and midfielder Cammy Devlin moved to Rangers, with Wouter Vrancken taking charge at Tynecastle.

Bloom acknowledged the disappointment of the finish but expressed confidence in the club’s response and their prospects under the new coach.

Sunday’s fixture will be Hearts’ first visit to Celtic Park since that decisive defeat.
