West Brom vs Millwall gives Albion the chance to extend their five-match unbeaten Championship run, but they must do so without captain George Campbell at The Hawthorns on Saturday 7 November.

Kick-off is at 3pm UK time. James Morrison’s side enter the weekend sixth with 25 points, while Millwall are 13th on 18 points after losing 3-0 at Birmingham City in midweek.

West Brom vs Millwall preview: Recent form

Albion have responded well to their October defeat by Birmingham, winning three and drawing two of their subsequent league matches.

Their 3-1 victory at West Ham was followed by Tuesday’s 1-1 draw with Southampton. Isaac Price opened the scoring from the penalty spot before Sam Edozie equalised for the visitors.

Millwall’s recent results have been less consistent. A 4-1 home victory over Derby offered encouragement, but Alex Neil’s side were unable to build on it at Birmingham, where all three goals arrived before half-time.

The Lions have won twice in their last eight league matches. Improving their away results is a priority after four defeats in their opening seven trips.

West Brom injury news: Campbell out, Tunde available

Campbell will miss the match after suffering a groin injury against Southampton. Morrison expects the defender to be sidelined for around 10 to 12 days and hopes the international break will limit his absence to one Albion fixture.

There is better news on Kareem Tunde, who is available again following his foot problem. Morrison’s latest injury update confirms the winger can be considered for selection.

Nat Phillips is expected to replace Campbell in central defence. Toby Collyer and Mikey Johnston remain absent, with Collyer recovering from a hamstring injury and Johnston an ankle problem.

The Express & Star’s assessment of Albion’s squad highlights the demands of a third match in eight days after the West Ham and Southampton tests.

Millwall injury news: Right-back options reduced

Millwall are expected to be without Tristan Crama and Ryan Leonard, leaving Neil short of established options at right-back.

The club confirmed that both players missed Birmingham through knocks, with Jordi Osei-Tutu starting in Crama’s place. Millwall’s official midweek team announcement also confirmed Tairyk Arconte’s return to the bench.

Casper De Norre, Mathis Servais, Filip Marschall and Lukas Jensen are also expected to miss the trip, according to Southwark News’s latest availability report.

Josh Coburn has returned to match action and provides another option in attack. His recent substitute appearances do not, however, confirm that he will start at The Hawthorns.

Where West Brom vs Millwall could be decided

Analysis: Albion’s recent performances give them a platform, but Campbell’s absence means their defensive organisation will be tested. Millwall should look to make that replacement partnership work, particularly when competing for crosses and second balls.

For the hosts, the challenge is to sustain their attacking intensity after two demanding matches. Tunde’s return offers Morrison another option, while Price and Jimmy-Jay Morgan provide threats that Millwall cannot afford to leave untracked.

Neil’s side need a much more secure opening than they produced at Birmingham. Conceding early would allow Albion to settle and make Millwall chase the match, increasing the pressure on their depleted defensive options.

Millwall also need an outlet when they regain possession. If their forwards become isolated, Albion can keep recovering the ball and force the visitors into repeated defensive work.

West Brom vs Millwall prediction

Our prediction: West Brom 2-1 Millwall.

Albion’s recent consistency and home advantage give them the edge. Campbell’s absence offers Millwall a possible opening, but the visitors’ away form and injury problems make a home win the stronger call.
