Leicester City will be without Jakub Stolarczyk and Ben Nelson for Friday’s FA Cup trip to Oxford City, while Jayden Joseph’s availability remains unconfirmed amid conflicting pre-match reports.

The first-round tie kicks off at 7.45pm GMT on Friday 6 November at the MGroup Stadium, Oxford City’s home at Court Place Farm.

Oxford winger Ewan Clark is also reported to remain sidelined, although the hosts have not published a comprehensive injury update in their official match preview.

Leicester remain without Stolarczyk and Nelson

Leicester confirmed in September that Stolarczyk had suffered an ACL injury and that Nelson had undergone an operation.

In the club’s long-term injury update, Russell Martin said Leicester were preparing for both players to miss the remainder of the season, while retaining hope that one or both could return sooner.

That update preceded a league game against Oxford United. Friday’s opponents are Oxford City, and the latest Sports Mole preview also lists Stolarczyk and Nelson as unavailable for this cup tie.

Joseph return uncertain as Martin considers changes

Joseph’s position is less clear. Sport Grill’s preview lists him as still injured, while Betfred’s team-news report expects him to return and names McFarlane among the absentees.

Neither Joseph’s return nor a place in the starting side should therefore be treated as confirmed before Leicester name their matchday squad.

Rotation is expected after the league draw with Stevenage. Conor Chaplin is among the attacking options tipped to start, but a predicted selection is separate from an injury update.

Oxford City injury news: Ewan Clark reported out

Sport Grill reports that Clark remains unavailable with a long-term injury and that Oxford have no fresh concerns following their defeat by South Shields.

Oxford City’s official preview does not include a full fitness bulletin, so there is insufficient confirmation to describe the rest of the squad as fully fit.

Kick-off and confirmed team news

Leicester’s fixture announcement confirms the 7.45pm kick-off and live TNT Sports coverage.

The matchday team sheets will settle the remaining selection questions. Further cup coverage is available in our FA Cup section.
