Derek Chisora says Anthony Joshua is giving him encouraging reports from training for Tyson Fury, but believes the former champion should aim to finish their Cardiff fight inside six rounds.

Chisora, who says he checks in with Joshua each Friday, told talkSPORT that his friend had described himself as “killing it” in camp, according to Boxing Wire’s account of the interview.

Chisora identifies Joshua’s early opportunity

“AJ has to knock him out in the first six rounds,” Chisora said.

His view is that Fury’s endurance and ability to sustain a higher pace could become increasingly important as the fight develops. He still considers Joshua dangerous later in the contest, but sees power as his clearest route to victory.

That is an assessment from someone who has faced Fury three times and knows Joshua well. It is a prediction, rather than evidence of how either man will perform when they meet.

When is Fury vs Joshua?

Netflix’s official event guide lists the fight for Friday 11 December at Principality Stadium in Cardiff. It will be shown globally on Netflix, with no additional event charge for members.

A confirmed ring-walk time is not included in that announcement. Fight-night timings should not be inferred from the date alone.

Wilder vs Opetaia adds another heavyweight contest

Deontay Wilder against Jai Opetaia is also confirmed for the card. Our report on the Wilder–Opetaia announcement covers that supporting fight.

The Fury vs Joshua undercard guide tracks the wider bill. Additional bouts should be treated as unconfirmed until the organisers announce them.
