Bournemouth’s bench delivered another European victory as Tyler Adams, Evanilson and Rayan all came on to score in a 3-1 comeback win over 10-man Sparta Prague.
Marco Rose’s side trailed to Ebrima Singhateh’s 35th-minute opener after Lewis Cook had missed a penalty, but Tobias Guddal’s dismissal two minutes later changed the contest.
Adams equalised in the 57th minute before Evanilson put the visitors ahead with nine minutes remaining. Rayan added the third in the 90th minute to complete Bournemouth’s victory in Prague.
The result makes it four wins from four in the Europa League and seven successive victories in all competitions.
Bournemouth miss penalty before Sparta take the lead
The visitors had the chance to strike first when Ki-Jana Hoever handled inside the penalty area. Cook took responsibility from the spot in the 30th minute but hit the post.
Sparta punished that miss five minutes later. Goalkeeper Jakub Surovcik launched a counterattack with a long throw, and Singhateh carried the ball forward before finishing past Michele Di Gregorio.
The hosts’ advantage was quickly undermined. Already booked, Guddal brought down Álvaro Rodríguez and received a second yellow card in the 37th minute.
Sparta reached half-time ahead, but faced the second half with 10 men.
Adams, Evanilson and Rayan turn the game
Rose introduced Adams for Adam Smith at the interval, and the midfielder made the breakthrough with a right-footed shot from outside the area into the bottom-left corner.
Having started Rodríguez ahead of Evanilson, Rose brought on the Brazilian alongside Marcus Tavernier and Adrien Truffert on the hour. Rayan followed for David Brooks in the 72nd minute.
Evanilson made the decisive contribution in the 81st minute, taking Ryan Christie’s pass and finishing across goal from the left side of the penalty area.
He then supplied Rayan for the third. The Brazilian’s left-footed strike from outside the box found the bottom-right corner, giving Bournemouth breathing space for stoppage time.
Perfect Europa League start continues
Bournemouth now have 12 points from four league-phase matches, adding Sparta to a European winning sequence that already included Real Sociedad, Sturm Graz and AC Milan.
Bournemouth arrived on a run of six consecutive wins without conceding. Singhateh ended that clean-sheet sequence, but Rose’s substitutes ensured the winning streak continued.
Bournemouth return to Premier League action away to Ipswich Town on Sunday 8 November.
