Dave.Sport wants to support sports fans in recovery from all forms of addiction. Until today, we had been advertising AI betting tips and sports betting affiliate offers. Sports fans should have the opportunity to consume content, listen to podcasts and watch their favourite sport without worries, fears or concerns that may trigger a relapse in recovery or inspire compulsive gamblers to gamble.
Betting and casino adverts are the most profitable in sports news publishing. By implementing our new policy we align with the sports fan community we want to create, for everyone to enjoy.
Supporting each other
This is about supporting each other, as humans, with a little bit of help from AI. With that in mind, if you can support the Dave.Sport cause and take out one of our monthly subscriptions, which let us stay gambling and casino advert free, we would be very grateful.
Dave.Sport is run by a very small team dedicated to creating a space for fans that is not just another place to read the news: it is a safe space to make friendships, communicate with new people, have the banter with other sports fans, and consume the news without fear of advertising that may not be good for you. If you can support the work we do, thank you.
You can subscribe from £1 per month up to £50 per month. But please don’t feel obliged: Dave.Sport will always be free for you to enjoy. This just helps buy the team a coffee now and again.
What the policy means
- No betting tips, predictions or odds anywhere on Dave.Sport.
- No bookmaker, casino or betting affiliate adverts or links, in articles, on hubs, in podcasts or in emails.
- Gambling is blocked as a category in the advertising we do run, and our automated checks flag any gambling content so it can be removed.
- If you spot something we have missed, tell us and it will be taken down.
If gambling is affecting you or someone close to you, GamCare runs the free National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133, 24 hours a day, and GAMSTOP lets you self-exclude from UK online gambling sites.
