Charlo returns for his first fight since Canelo

Charlo, 36, last fought in September 2023, when he jumped two divisions to challenge Canelo Alvarez for the undisputed super-middleweight title and lost by unanimous decision. His last win came in May 2022, when he stopped Brian Castaño to become undisputed champion at 154lb.

Charlo returns with a 35-2-1 record and 19 knockouts. Jarvis, 28, is 23-2 with 21 knockouts. The Australian was stopped by Keith Thurman in March 2025 and responded by stopping the previously unbeaten Sam Beck in four rounds that August.

Could Charlo finally fight Tim Tszyu?

Charlo and Tszyu were due to fight in January 2023, when Tszyu was the mandatory challenger at super-welterweight. Charlo withdrew after breaking his hand and later moved up to face Alvarez. Tszyu went on to become WBO champion at 154lb.

They now share a bill, with Charlo against Jarvis directly before Tszyu challenges Erislandy Lara for the WBA middleweight title. Fox Sports Australia has raised the possibility of Charlo facing Tszyu in 2027 if both win on the Gold Coast. A fight between them has yet to be announced.

Liam Wilson also challenges Elnur Samedov for the WBA super-featherweight title on the same card. Our Tszyu vs Lara guide covers the main event and the rest of the announced bill.
